Marjorie Emily Fiske, age 94, Inverness, FL passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Mrs. Fiske was born in Lulu, Florida on February, 18, 1924 to the late Raymond Smith and Mary Jane (Sneller) Smith. She and her late husband, The Rev. Roy Fiske, moved to Citrus County in 2006 from Lutz, Florida. She was a graduate of Florida Southern College, having earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and taught both elementary and high school students during her career. Mrs. Fiske was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness.

Having grown up on a farm, one of her favorite hobbies was gardening. She also loved genealogy research. As a minister’s wife, Marjorie loved working and serving in the churches she attended, especially in her roles as a youth director and Director of Religion. She was a faithful and devoted servant of Christ and shared her faith with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are three children: Barry M. Fiske and his wife, Gail of Inverness; Dr. Darrell N. Fiske and wife, Joanne of Palm City, FL; Gregory L. Fiske and his wife, Carole of Brandon, FL; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Rev. Roy Fiske on July 15, 2014 as well as her brothers and sisters.

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the service begins. Burial will follow on Monday, 11:00 AM in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Marjorie’s memory to the First United Methodist Church of Inverness, 1140 Turner Camp Road, Inverness, FL 34453.
