Janell Stanage

Janell Stanage, age 76, of Floral City, FL passed away at Avante Nursing Home in Inverness on January 14, 2019. Janell was born on February 15, 1942 in Strawberry, AR to the late Floyd Edward and Nellie (Rash) Saffell. She was married to Gilbert A. Stanage for 58 years until his passing on December 31, 2013. She and Gilbert made Citrus County, FL their home in 1981 after relocating from Benton Harbor, MI.

Back in the day she was a wonderful mother and grandmother, homemaker, and decorator and had the knack for landscaping that made every home her family resided in beautiful. She enjoyed making friends with the staff of restaurants she frequented, that seem like family to her. Dogs from Pekingese to Doberman Pinchers became part of the family as well. Janell loved to shop for herself and others which was of the best quality. Her hair was a new do quite frequently. Her husband used to kid that he had a new woman almost every week! She and her husband enjoyed the Florida Gulf beaches together. She enjoyed traveling, and took many solo road trips from Florida to Michigan to visit with family. Janell was Christian by faith and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Inverness.

Those left to mourn Janell’s passing include her sons: Ray Stanage of Floral City, FL; Clyde Stanage of Benton Harbor, MI; Allen Stanage and his wife Barbara of Floral City, FL; daughter, Sandy Biastock and her husband Richard of Coloma, MI; sisters: Janice Diamond of Memphis, TN; Neta Mullins of Watervliet, MI; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Cremation care provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
