Ruth E Kroeger

Ruth Evelyn Cox Kroeger, 84, Inverness passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Arbor Trail Health & Rehab Center. Ruth was born in Columbus, IN on April 8, 1934 to the late Leslie T. and Mary (Cline) Cox and came to Citrus County in 1971 from Lakeland, FL. She was employed by Humana Health Care as a secretary. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale. Ruth enjoyed sewing, quilting, working puzzles and truly enjoyed nature and the outdoors. Additionally, she was a great cook!

Left to cherish her memory is her son, David O. Pate of Pompano Beach, FL; 5 daughters: Deanna Johnston and her husband Hrold, Jennifer Williamson and her husband Ira, and Kaywood Pate, all of Inverness; Georgia Shelar, of Smyrna, DE; Hollis Roberts, of Greenville, TN; her sister, Elizabeth Robinson, of Clearwater, FL; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Kroeger , her sister, Alta Smith, and her granddaughter, Mandy Ruth Pate.

Ruth’s life will be remembered at a Life Celebration Service on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Bloxton, of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness, FL
