Amy Diane Whitton, 35, Hernando, FL passed away December 16, 2018 under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice. Amy was born in Inverness, FL on March 1, 1983 to B.M. Lucky Whitton, Jr. and Patricia Annette Townsend Whitton. She attended Hernando Elementary School and Inverness Middle School, and graduated from Citrus High School, Class of 2002.

Amy’s life was full and her interests many. She enjoyed crafting, beading, painting, crocheting and puzzles. Her time spent with her family was precious, especially those visits to the family’s mountain cabin. She would enjoy the water falls and play in the creek, snow sledding in winter, horse back riding, and spending time on the beach. She was an avid fan of stock car racing and attending her nieces’ softball games. Amy was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Lucky and Trish Whitton; devoted sister, Amanda Whitton Swayze and brother-in-law, Steve Swayze of Hernando; 2 nieces, Kayli Faith Swayze and Kierstyn Grace Swayze and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Buster and Joan Whitton; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Carmen Townsend and her uncle, James Townsend.

A Celebration of Amy’s Life will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Kell officiating.

Burial will follow at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM until the start of services at the church. At Amy’s request, those attending are asked to wear casual and colorful clothing. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Attention: Youth Ministries, 1100 W. Highland Blvd., Inverness, FL 34452. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness is serving the family.
