Edward John Bernhard, Jr., age 77, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away at the Alexander Nininger State Veterans Nursing Home on October 9, 2018. Edward was born on September 21, 1941 in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late Helen (Collins) and Edward J. Bernhard, Sr. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Edward was married to Florence (Bundy) for 44 years until her passing on March 1, 2009. He and Florence made Citrus County their home in 2002 after relocating from Naples, Italy. Edward was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
Edward’s passing will be mourned by his sons: Edward J. Bernhard, III of Erwin, TN, Jack W. Bernhard of Key West, FL; sisters: Marion Lambert of New York, Barbara Cicciarelli of Arizona; brother, John Bernhard of Shinglehouse Pennsylvania; and 3 grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Florence in 2009 and a brother, John. Private burial in Florida National Cemetery.
Cremation care is provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
