Clyde O. “Buddy” Hulse, Jr., age 90, of Inverness, FL passed away at his home on August 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Columbus, OH to the late Mary Jane (Neill) and Clyde O. Hulse, Sr. and moved to Inverness in 1982 from Seminole, Florida. He retired from the St. Petersburg Fire Department as a Deputy Chief after 21 years of service and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Messer) Hulse; their two children, Linda Smith and Gail (Barry) Fiske, both of Inverness; 1 sister, Barbara Meriweather, Las Vegas, NV; “Poppa” was also adored and loved by his 6 grandchildren: Amy Coleman, Robin Anderson, Sam (Beth) Fiske, Bobby Smith, Steven Fiske and Sarah Fiske, and 6 great grandchildren who inherited his unique sense of humor. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Kelch, with whom he shared a close bond.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, Aug 18th at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Beaverson of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until the hour of service.
