Carla Jean Dempsey, age 64, of Homosassa, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL on August 6, 2018. Carla was born on November 16, 1953 in Titusville, PA to Lillian (Brown) Dempsey and the late Carl R. Dempsey. She made Florida her home in 1985 after relocating from Titusville, PA and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant throughout her professional career.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed talking with her family and friends and keeping up with what was going on in their lives. Carla was a member of American Legion Post #166.
Those left to mourn Carla’s passing include her mother, Lillian Dempsey of Guys Mills, PA; sons: Kyle Acel and his wife Heather of Guys Mills, PA, Kevin Acel of Emmett, MI, Korey Acel and his wife Jamie of Pooler, GA; brothers: Russell Dempsey and his wife Barb of Centerville, PA, Jason Dempsey and his wife Grace, Eric Dempsey and his wife Maryalice, Blaine Dempsey, all of Guys Mills, PA; sisters: Caroline Dempsey of Guys Mills, PA, Pamela Knapp and her husband Howard of Titusville, PA, Cathy Flanders and her husband Bob of Indiana, PA; 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Dempsey on January 9, 2007.
Carla’s family is planning a Memorial Service for a later date in Pennsylvania. Cremation care provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
