John Andrew Zellner, 86, Floral City passed away August 1, 2018 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. John was born November 4, 1931 in Floral City to the late Elisha Arnold and Annie Alice (Spivey) Zellner.
John was a third generation native of Citrus County and graduated Citrus High School to become a fourth generation farmer on the Cove Bend Homestead until he retired from the Citrus and Cattle business and years of employment by The Ferris/Southern Citrus Corporation. He was also the owner and operator of Zellner Trucking and Zellner Land Clearing businesses. He owned and raced horses and was an old time gator poacher.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Glenda Morris Patricia “Pat” Zellner; 2 sons, Joel A. Zellner and wife, Angie, of Ocala, FL, John A. Zellner, Jr., Bronson, FL; 2 daughters, Pamela O’Neill of Phoenix, AZ and Leslie Walling of Palm City, FL; 5 grandchildren, Evan, Jessica, Shelby, Jordan, and John; 2 great grandchildren, Kayne and Courtney and many nieces and nephews including Robin and Michael Allen. He was preceded in death by his brother Phil and his sisters, Marjorie Robinson, Annie Sullivan, and Melba Sweatt.
John’s life will be remembered and celebrated Wednesday, August 8th at 11:00 AM from the Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Kell officiating. Interment will be private at a later date in Hills of Rest Cemetery.
