Doris Pearl Miner, age 73, Inverness, FL passed away June 16, 2018 in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Doris was born in Bronx, NY on November 6, 1944 to the late Harry and Mary (Levinsky) Warren.

She came to Citrus County in 1993 from Miami (Biscayne Gardens) Florida. Doris was a paralegal in Miami and after moving to Inverness, a licensed real estate broker with the J.W. Morton Real Estate firm for over 20 years. She loved working with people and providing her services to find them the perfect home.

While her children were growing up, she was involved in every aspect of their lives including memberships in various PTA groups, working with the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, and being the chauffeur to many extra curricular activities and sporting events.

She enjoyed many real estate achievement awards over the years in Citrus County, and her memberships included the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Florida Realtors Association to name a few.

Doris enjoyed every aspect of the arts including a strong connection to music through her piano and other string instruments playing. Her hobbies included various crafts, painting, reading, and tending to a variety of plants and animals that she loved dearly. Her passionate love for her friends and family was often displayed through her holiday parties and “just because” meals that she prepared so lovingly for all to enjoy.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Rodney A. Miner; 3 children: Deborah A. McAvoy, Boca Raton, Fl; Kimberly Miner, Hollywood, FL; Douglas A. Miner and his wife, Korena Monoski of Eustis, FL; 3 grandchildren: Quinton and Alexandria Miner and Emma McAvoy; 2 step grandchildren, Trent and Remington Shipton; one great grandchild, Charlie Rae Vreeland. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother and sister, Robert and Jean Warren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Doris on Thursday, June 21st at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. A very dear family friend, Art Tate will officiate. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be presented to Citrus Co. Abuse Shelter, 1100 E. Turner Camp Rd., Inverness, FL 34453
