Thadis “Thad” Leon Brown, 91, of Citrus Springs, FL passed away April 24, 2018 at Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL. He was born in Bryans Mill, TX on November 22, 1926 to the late Thomas F. and Revie (Meadows) Brown.

Thad served our country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant upon retirement from the military. He had served with distinction during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Thad arrived in the Citrus County area in 2002, coming from Naples, TX. He was a devoutly religious and much loved man who attended both the Church of God in Inverness, FL, and North Oak Baptist Church in Citrus Springs, FL. Whenever anyone asked him how he was doing, his response was always, “I am blessed and highly favored”. He enjoyed sharing dinner with his daughter Brenda every evening, and walking his beloved dog “Babushka”. Thad liked playing the guitar, fishing and sitting in his garage observing nature.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lela Mae Brown in 2007, and 2 brothers, Elton and Marty Brown. Thad is survived by his dear daughter Brenda J. Sheldon and her husband Bruce of Citrus Springs, and grandson Brandon Sheldon.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Thad will be held Monday, 12:00 noon at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. with Pastors Ray Hill and Stan Stewart officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service. After the service, Thad will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
