Bettylee Jackson, 91, Inverness passed away March 14, 2018 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Mrs. Jackson was born in East Liverpool, OH on July 22, 1926 to the late Raymond and Jane (Holt) Wilson and came to this area in 1990 from Orlando.
Her passion was riding motorcycles. She was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Inverness (Chapter T). She embarked on her cycling journey at the age of 71 and hung up her riding attire at age 85. During that period, she accumulated over 200,000 riding miles, many of them cross country and coast to coast. She also was a member of the Inverness Golf and Country Club’s “Half Rounders”.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Karla Rubin and her husband, Michael of Inverness. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Col. Karl Jackson, U.S. Army (Ret); a daughter, Kathy White on June 1, 2004, and her brother Raymond Wilson.
Bettylee’s life will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Chaplain Dan Lyman of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast officiating. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
