Merlin Joseph Frum, 85, of Inveness, FL passed away February 10, 2018 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. He was born in LaSalle, IL on December 10, 1932 to the late Eugene and Mary Ethel (Bower) Frum.
Merlin was a hydraulic equipment mechanic with Commonwealth Edison for 38 years. He was a Christian by faith, and arrived in this area in 1987, coming from Mt. Prospect, IL, and held a prison ministry at Sumter Correctional facility, for 22 years. He also served as guardian ad litem in Citrus County for 8 years and served our country in the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1953. Merlin enjoyed horseback riding, riding motorcycles, and meeting his friends on a daily basis at several area restaurants.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruth Ann Frum. Merlin is also survived by his daughters, Robin Condon and her husband Ryan of Eagle, WI, and Merlyn Lewis and her husband Harry of Inverness; brother Gene Frum; sisters Ethel Ostenberg and Virginia Peil; and 3 grandchildren: Riley Condon, Reed Condon, and Timothy Lewis.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th at 10:00 AM from Grace Bible Fellowship in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial gifts, to the Grace Way Bible Church, P.O. Box 866, Edgewater, FL 32132, to enable children to attend camp. Cremation care is under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
