Anthony “Tony” Joseph Forillo, Jr., 75, Beverly Hills, FL passed away January 24, 2018, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Tony was born in Chicago, IL on May 3, 1942 to the late Anthony B. Forillo and Lorraine (Kostaken) Forillo. He moved to Florida 14 years ago from Westmont, IL. He retired from the oil refinery industry as a technician and served our country in the US Navy.
Tony is survived by his loving companion, Elaine DiBernardo, Citrus Springs, FL; his children: Andrew Forillo (Karen) and Pam Kunke (Bill), all of Minooka, IL; his sister Gail Workman, Inverness, FL; his brother Edward Forillo, Downers Grove, IL and 6 grandchildren: Matthew, Dana, Tony, Taylor, Andrew and Nicholas. Tony is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends as well as his devoted K-9 buddy, Billy. Tony was preceded in death by his son Tony Forillo; brother, John Forillo; and two sisters: Elaine Whitlock and Shirley Daverin.
As a young man, Tony lived on the south side of Chicago in the Comiskey Park area. He often talked of how he sold hotdogs from a push cart outside the park. Thus, he helped raise generations of White Sox fans! In his retirement, he enjoyed dancing at the VFW, where he also met Elaine. He also enjoyed cooking and telling funny stories and jokes.
A Celebration of Life Service for Tony, will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, with Rev. Lloyd Bertine of the Gulf to Lake Baptist Church, officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tony’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
