Philip Worrell

Philip Worrell, age 87, of Inverness, FL, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Arbor Trail Rehab and Nursing, Inverness. Philip was born on January 11, 1931 in Ackerman, MS to the late Jonas and Nanny (York) Worrell. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War.

After his military service, Philip went on to work as a Salesman in the Building Supply Industry. On August 8, 1994 he married Rebecca (Phillips) with whom he shared 23 years of loving marriage. He and Rebecca made Citrus County, FL their home in 1996 after relocating from Durant, MS. In his spare time Philip enjoyed hunting and gardening. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and the solitude and peace of the woods. Philip also liked to fix things and “tinker around” in his workshop. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Philip had a great love for his grandchildren and spending time with them. He loved watching them participate in their various sporting events throughout the years.

In addition to his wife Rebecca, those left to mourn Philip’s passing are his step-daughter, Heather Fernandez and her husband Marc of Inverness, FL; sister, Melba White of Hazlehurst, MS; and grandchildren: Raymond, Nicholas and Gina. Philip was preceded in death by several brothers. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
