Lorenzo Pupillo, age 78, of Hernando, FL, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, FL. Lorenzo was born in Benghazi, Libya on December 6, 1939 to the late Carmelo and Maria (Macadino) Pupillo.
On June 10, 1962, he was married to Rose Ann Cozzo, with whom he shared 55 years of loving marriage. Lorenzo was Catholic by faith and was employed as a Painter for Local Union 1486 prior to retirement. He and his wife Rose Ann made Citrus County, FL their home 10 years ago after relocating from Long Island, N.Y. In his spare time, Lorenzo enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also loved animals and enjoyed caring for them.
In addition to his wife Rose Ann, those left to mourn Lorenzo’s passing are his sons: Joseph Pupillo and his wife Nicolette of Huntington Harbor, N.Y., Michael Pupillo and his wife Danielle of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters: Maria Vultaggio, Franca Ardito, Santina Gerardi, Crocetta Mazarase, all of Long Island, N.Y.; and 2 grandchildren: Enzo and Vincent Pupillo. Lorenzo was preceded in death by brothers: Giuseppe and Michele.
The Pupillo family plan to receive friends in visitation at the Mangano Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, N.Y. 11729 on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial for Lorenzo will take place at Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, N.Y. 11729, on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10:15 AM. Lorenzo will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery, 2018 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, N.Y. 11735. Local arrangements under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
