Michael Ernest Pitts, 75, Inverness, FL passed away Friday, Dec 15, 2017 at his home. Michael was born on the island of Bermuda June 21, 1942. He spent his early years in Bermuda and England. He immigrated to the United States after meeting his wife Anne in Bermuda. He became a naturalized United States citizen in June, 1966 and loved his adopted country very much.

Michael and Anne were married on October 27, 1962 in New York. They relocated from New York to Inverness in 1974 with their children. He was a Police Officer for the City of Inverness and also a store manager for Eckerd Drugs as well as a Correctional Officer for the State of Florida, posted at Marion Correctional Institution. Michael enjoyed reading on historical subjects, English football and his favorite past time was spending time with his family. Michael was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, FL.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne C. Pitts of Inverness, FL; his 4 children: Michele, Steven, Michael and Gary; as well as his 2 grandchildren, Tiffany Hiebert and Dominic Pitts, and his great granddaughter Anna Michele Hiebert.

Viewing and visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9:30 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Avenue, Inverness, FL 34450, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 550 U.S. Highway 41 South, Inverness, FL 34450, with Father Tim Cummings, Celebrant. Following the Mass, interment will take place at 1:30 PM at Fero Memorial Gardens, 5891 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
