Sadako “Sally” Roof, age 89, of Inverness, FL, passed away under the loving care of her family and Hospice on Friday, November 24, 2017. Sally was born on September 29, 1928 in Utsunomiya, Japan and made Citrus County, FL her home in 1974. She enjoyed being a homemaker but also enjoyed working as a Sales Associate for Beall’s Department Store.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Jomiko Masanori and brother, Kicharo Yamauchi. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gilbert Roof; daughter, Debra Negrete and her husband, Rodney Negrete of Windermere, FL; and her grandchildren Kennan and Kennedy Negrete, as well as her sister, Setsuko Yamauchi of Tokyo, Japan.
Sally will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her giving nature. She loved playing games with her grandchildren, especially playing Bingo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Greg Kell of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
