Olive Womble, age 94, of Inverness, FL, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Arbor Trail, Inverness. Olive was born on October 20, 1923 to the late Frederick and Mary (MacDonald) Merrill. She was married to Thurston Womble for 54 years until his passing on June 4, 2004. Olive made Citrus County her home in 2005 after relocating from The Villages. A Catholic by faith she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. In her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts, crocheting and was a loving wife and mother.
Those left to mourn Olive’s passing include her son, Thurston Eric Womble and his wife Wendy of Fairhope, AL; daughter, Noreen Womble of Inverness, FL; sister: Emma Goeller of Buffalo, N.Y.; and grandchildren: Melissa (Brian) Coleman of Annadle, VA, and Matthew Womble of Washington, D.C.. In addition to her loving husband Thurston, she was preceded in death by brothers: Johnnie and George; and sisters: Sylvia and Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Olive will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, with Father Tim Cummings Celebrant. Arrangements under direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
