Phyllis Marlene Witt, age 78, of Inverness, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Citrus Health and Rehab, Inverness. Phyllis was born in Hammond, IN on January 3, 1939 to the late Thomas and Arlene Garvey. She was married to Kenneth A. Witt for 43 years until his passing on May 21, 1998.
She made Florida her home 13 years ago after relocating from Indiana. Phyllis was a Baptist by faith and greatly enjoyed attending the worship services at Citrus Health and Rehab where she also served on the residents council. She enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, making arts and crafts, knitting and making artwork.
Those left to mourn Phyllis’ passing include her sons: Kenneth Witt and his wife Diane of Friendship, TN, Paul Witt and his wife Karen of Dade City, FL, and James Witt; daughters: Linda Dougherty and her husband Jerry of Floral City, FL, Carol Witt of Floral City, FL; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A celebration of Phyllis’ life is planned for Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, where a spiritual message and cherished memories will be shared by her friends and family. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Phyllis’ urn will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, at a later date. Service arrangements and cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
