Evelyn Marie Tuttle, age 86, of Inverness, FL, passed away at her home on October 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and while under the care of HPH Hospice. Evelyn was born on November 22, 1930 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Jesse and Harriet (Wright) Bryant. She was married to Edwin Tuttle until his passing on June 24, 1993.
Evelyn and Edwin made Citrus County, FL their home in 1981 after relocating from St. Petersburg, FL. She was employed by Citrus County Schools for 17 years as a food service worker. In her spare time, Evelyn liked to travel, read and cook delicious meals for family gatherings. She was also a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves.
Those left to mourn Evelyn’s passing include her stepdaughter, Linda Samples of San Augustine, TX; sisters: Nancy Smallwood and Ruth Frady, both of Inverness, FL; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Edwin, Evelyn was preceded in death by brothers, James, Donald, Billy and Clayton Bryant.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is planned for Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:30 AM, at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Alexander of the New Church Without Walls, Hernando and Pastor David Lucas of Inverness Church of God officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest beside her husband Edwin at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Evelyn’s memory to HPH Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Tampa, FL 33637 or at www.chaptershealth.org.
