Darlene J. May, age 90, of Inverness, FL, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Arbor Trail Rehab & Nursing, Inverness. Darlene was born December 2, 1926 in Rapid City, S.D. to the late Harold and Nina (Bangeter) Brown.
On January 4, 1978, she married Morton May, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Darlene loved to travel and had visited over 48 countries in her lifetime and had resided in many places including Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri and Mexico. She was very active and involved in politics. She was a member of the League of Women Voters in South Dakota and had marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. in Ohio. In her spare time, Darlene loved to garden and was a member of Floral City VFW Post #7122.
Those left to mourn Darlene’s passing and cherish her memory are son, Michael Kovich and his wife Janice of Galveston, TX; step-daughter, Carmen Tanner of Inverness, FL; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Darlene was preceded in death by son, Daniel Kovich; daughter, Teresa Halupnic; step-daughter, Carol Cline; and 2 brothers.
Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
