Earnest “David” Dubose

Earnest “David” Dubose, age 81, of Inverness, FL, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. David was born on June 1, 1936 in Waycross, GA to the late Clyde and Lorene (Guy) Dubose.

On December 31, 1955 he married LaVerne McIntosh, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. He and LaVerne made Citrus County, FL their home in 1997 after relocating from Georgia. David was employed as a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired with over 30 years of service. He also served 6 years in the National Guard in Jacksonville, FL. A Christian by faith, David attended worship services and was a member of the Crossgate Church of God, Inverness. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

In addition to his loving wife LaVerne, those left to mourn David’s passing include his sons: Earnest “Dave” Dubose and his wife Debbie of Columbia, AL, Timothy Alan Dubose of St. Simons Island, GA; daughter, Janis “Jan” Spikerman of Inverness, FL; brothers: Jerry Dubose and his wife Audrey, Elkin Dubose and his wife Janice, both of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Barbara “Bobbi” Deen and her husband Kenny of Columbus, GA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Dubose and sisters, Mary Denton and Norris Sapp.

A funeral service for David is planned for Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Crossgate Church of God, Inverness, with Pastor Junior Branson officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, FL.
