John Jacob “J.J.” Brenn, 89, of Floral City, FL passed away August 27, 2017 at Citrus Health & Rehab in Inverness, FL. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 8, 1928 to the late Charles B. and Caryl (Aiken) Brenn.
John was an Engineer for Southern Bell Telephone, and served our country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a proud graduate of Rollins College and a respected member of the Citrus County Cattlemen’s Association. John arrived in this area in 1988, coming from Winter Park, FL. He was an Episcopal by faith, and enjoyed hunting, working outside and spending time outdoors. John was the ultimate gentleman and always willing to help others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie C. Brenn of Floral City, and his niece, Penelope Ann Herbst of Cape Canaveral, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Citrus Country Cattlemen’s Association. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, September 8, 10:00 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Military honors will be rendered at the cemetery by VFW Post #4337, Inverness. There are no services at the funeral home. The procession to the cemetery will depart the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
