Jean C. Mills, age 83, of Inverness, FL, passed away July 27, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Jean was born on July 11, 1934 in Stinkin Creek, KY to the late Oddis Jefferson and Julia (Walker) Craft.
She made Citrus County her home in 1973 after relocating from Fort Knox, KY. A Baptist by faith, she was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Inverness. Jean worked as a legal assistant here in the Inverness area for 40 years. Prior to coming to the area, she was a dedicated Army wife that traveled the world for over 20 years. In her spare time, Jean loved playing dominos with her friends and neighbors and watching foreign movies with subtitles and closed captioning on Netflix.
Those left to mourn Jean’s passing include her sons: David G. Mills of Inverness, FL, Richard R. Mills of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Kaaren L. Woods and her husband Alex of Harker Heights, TX; aunt, Ms. Freddie Hahling of Inverness, FL; brother, Richard H. Craft and his wife Bobbie of Inverness, FL; grandchildren: Candace Cole, Christopher Garrett Mills, Lara Jean Mills and Sean Mills. Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Lowe.
Memorial services for Jean, will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 6:00 PM. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
