John M Sullivan

John M. Sullivan, age 81, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, FL. John was born on July 18, 1935 in Queens, N.Y. to the late Walter and Grace (Sloman) Sullivan.

He came to Citrus County 30 years ago from there. John was an iron worker in the construction industry and was a member of the Inverness First Church of God. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. John was a former professional boxer and a minor league baseball player and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New York.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Kathleen (Raney) Sullivan; his sons, John (Lynn) Sullivan of Rockville Centre, NY and Patrick (Mary) Sullivan of Bethpage, NY; his daughters, Donna (John) McAuley of Esopus, NY and Barbara (Jim) Young of Hutchinson Island, FL; step-daughters, Elizabeth (Kevin) Braun of Garden City Park, NY and Kathleen Hannon of Elmont, NY; his grandchildren: Erin, John, Frank, Michael, John, Jennifer, Jimmy, Gwen, Garrett and Grant; great grandchildren, Sam and Ben. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Rita (Cervero) Sullivan on Dec. 11, 2008 and 2 brothers: Joseph and Walter.

John’s family plan to hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Inverness First Church of God July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Private cremation services are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
