Irene J. Harrell, 90, Inverness passed away June 6, 2017 at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Mrs Harrell was born in Tampa, FL on March 18, 1927 to the late Claude and Golda (Brown) Jackson and lived in Tampa for many years prior to moving to Hernando and Citrus Counties. She was a retired telephone operator, having worked for the original GTE Telephone Company. Her passion and hobby was making antique porcelain dolls complete with clothing. She was an extremely talented seamstress. Irene enjoyed traveling with her family, having made 3 trips to Hawaii alone, not to mention many other locations.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Joseph Nolan Jr. and his wife, Esther of Brooksville, FL; Pamela Harrell of Inverness; 1 sister, Mary Criswell; 2 grandchildren, Chip and Laura Harrell; 3 great grandchildren, Shelbi Wild, Alexis Cassidy, and Andrew Brinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Harrell, Sr. on March 18, 2014.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Friday, June 9, 2017 at 4:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Leary Willis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the hour of service.
