John C. Saltmarsh, Sr., age 87, Inverness passed away April 20, 2017 at the Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast. John was born in Boston, MA on February 6, 1930 to the late Clifford and Helen (McMasters) Saltmarsh.
John moved to Florida in 1976 from Hingham, MA. He was a heavy equipment operator for 67 years and a proud member of Local No. 4, Operating Engineers and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being a part of the family cook outs on weekends.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Woelfel) Saltmarsh; 3 sons: John C. Saltmarsh, Jr and his wife Cheryl, Kenneth M. Saltmarsh and his wife Brenda, and James F. Saltmarsh, all of Inverness; sister, Mary Lauenstein of Lincoln, CA; 8 grandchildren, Chris, Danielle, Heather, Steven, LeeAnn, Kayla, Brianna and Jamie; and 11 great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 6th at 9:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
