Elaine Marie Batson, age 73, of Floral City, FL passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Elaine was born on August 7, 1943 in Herkimer, N.Y. to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Streeter) Shaut. She was married to George Batson with whom she shared 28 years of loving marriage.
Elaine was employed as a teller for Bank of America for over 33 years and made Florida her home in 1975 after relocating from New York. Elaine and George settled in Floral City in 2009. A Methodist by faith, she was an officer for the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Safety Harbor, FL. In her spare time Elaine loved to fish and go to yard sales.
In addition to her husband George, those left to mourn Elaine’s passing are her stepdaughter, Carla Todd of California; brothers: Frank Shaut of Cincinnati, OH, Bill Shaut of Herkimer, N.Y.; sisters: Julie Weaver of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Barbara Goodson of Herkimer, N.Y.; and 2 grandchildren.
Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
