Joseph Francis Caren, Jr., age 67, of Inverness, FL passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Joseph was born on October 16, 1949 in Jersey City, N.J. to Florence R. (Gilsenan) and the late Joseph Francis Caren, Sr.
He grew up in Ridgewood, N.J., worked in the hydraulic machinery field throughout his life and made Citrus County, FL his home two years ago after relocating from Tampa, FL. Joe loved baseball, movies, music, especially the blues, and had played blues harmonica. Joe will be best remembered for his loving dedication to his family and his tremendous sense of humor. He was always telling jokes and finding the humor in situations.
Those left to mourn Joseph’s passing and to cherish his memory are his mother, Florence R. Driscoll of Hawthorne, N.J.; son, Jason Caren of St. Petersburg, FL; daughters: Donna Tolbert and her husband Wade of Inverness, FL, Janice Dugger and her husband Robert of Westminster, CO; brother, Tom Caren and his wife Kathy of Warwick, N.Y.; sister, Kathleen M. Caren of West Milford, N.J.; grandchildren: Charity, Grace, Praise, Glory; and great-grandchildren: Christopher, Joshua, Nova; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. Joseph was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Brent as well as his father.
The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL is assisting the family with private cremation arrangements.
