Vera Dorothea Hofmann, age 90, of Inverness, FL passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at New Horizons Assisted Living Facility with her family by her bedside. Vera was born on August 27, 1926 in East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y. to the late Gustave and Margaret (Seidler) Norell. She was married to George Hofmann for 24 years until his passing in 1990.
Vera made Citrus County her home 37 years ago after relocating from Long Island, N.Y. She was a Lutheran by faith, loved to bowl, play bingo, cook and solve puzzles. Vera had a great love for music and had a beautiful singing voice. In her youth, she had also enjoyed dancing.
Those left to mourn Vera’s passing are her son, Robert Charles Jilnicki (Diane) of Inverness, FL; daughters: Toni Maguire (Kenneth) of Floral City, FL, Paula Zelaya of Homosassa, FL, Gail Fiore (Hugo) of Floral City, FL, Bunny Rosenka (Lester) of Floral City, FL and Vi Green (Chris) of Homosassa, FL. She is also survived by a great many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband George, Vera was preceded in death by all 12 of her siblings.
Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
