Robert Raymond Diestler, age 78, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away after a lengthy illness at his residence on March 2, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Robert was born on December 25, 1938 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Adolph William and Catherine Agnes (Raymond) Diestler. On July 27, 1957 he married Janice Krebs with whom he shared 59 1/2 years of loving marriage.
Robert and Janice made Florida their home 51 years ago after relocating from Kenosha, WI. In 1984 they settled in Citrus County after moving from Pinellas Park, FL. Lutheran by faith, Robert was a parishoner of the First Lutheran Church, Inverness, FL. He had owned and operated a new car dealership while residing in Kenosha and went on to own and operate Diestler Auto Sales of Pinellas Park. Later in life he would go on to custom build and repair computers. Robert was a member of the Hernando Elks Lodge #2522 and enjoyed fishing, boating, watching NASCAR in his spare time, and he liked playing the organ for family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife Janice, those left to mourn Robert’s passing are his son, Robert and his wife Laurie of Inverness, FL; daughter, Cynthia David and her husband Frank of Dunnellon, FL; sister in law, Carol Diestler of Ocean City, N.J.; and grandchildren, Bobby and Tommy.
A Memorial Service for Robert, will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church of Inverness, with Rev. Tom Beaverson officiating. The Family would also like to thank Dr. V. Patel and the staff of Florida Cancer Specialties for their kindness and thoughtfulness throughout Robert’s treatment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, 5204 Paylor Lane, Sarasota, FL 34240 or Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
