Yvonne Dena Puro, 74, Inverness passed away at home on March 3, 2017. Mrs Puro was born April 8, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late Leo J and Margaret (Ackley) Gietzen and moved to this area from Algonec, MI. She was a homemaker and a long time member of V.F.W. Post 4337 Ladies Auxiliary. Yvonne also enjoyed being a member of the Inverness Chicks, and the Red Hat Society and loved to dance and sing Kar-a-o-ke. Yvonne also enjoyed gardening and decorating her home for Christmas and sharing it with everyone.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dale A. Puro, Richmond, MI; Darrell J. (Cindy) Puro, Algonec, MI; 2 daughters, Deborah Vanderhagen, Chesterfield, MI; Darlene R. Spiney, Key West, FL; 2 sisters, Linda (Chester) Sturgess, The Villages, FL; Therese (Doug) Wilmot, Lewiston, MI; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Puro on March 19, 2012 and her daughter, Donna Hernandez.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Friday, March 10th from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the V.F.W. Post 4337 in Inverness. Service will be followed by a luncheon. Yvonne’s urn will be laid to rest at a later date in Florida National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
