Thomas A Gill Jr

Thomas Aaron Gill, Jr., age 82, of Inverness, FL passed away on February 14, 2017 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born on March 3, 1934 in Selingsgrove, PA to the late Bertha Iva (Nehring) and Thomas A. Gill, Sr.

He attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y. and obtained his degree in Civil Engineering. After college, he went on to work for the New York State Department of Transportation as a Road Engineer. He made Citrus County his home over 30 years ago after relocating from New York.

Thomas was married to Edna Gill for thirty plus years until her passing in 2010. He was a member of the Inverness Moose Lodge #2112 and was previously a member of the Lion’s Club while residing in New York.

In his spare time Thomas enjoyed reading, square dancing and crossword puzzles. A Methodist by faith, he attended worship services at the Hernando United Methodist Church and was very active in the church. Thomas often served as a greeter and participated in the Communion Ministry which provided Communion to those unable to attend church.

Those left to mourn Thomas’ passing include brothers: Ted Gill of New York, Frank Gill of Oregon; sisters: Beatrice Willing of Florida, Judy Kelly of New York, Margaret Gill of New York, Flo Waiter of Texas and Gloria Obrecht of Florida.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for Thomas at the Hernando United Methodist Church, Hernando, FL at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
