Joseph Losito Jr

Joseph Losito, Jr., age 92, of Floral City, FL passed away January 19, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. Joseph was born on October 8, 1924 in Syracuse N.Y. to the late Joseph and Concetta (Eallonardo) Losito. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of both WWII and Korea. Joseph was a Marine through and through.

He made Citrus County his home 24 years ago after relocating from Syracuse, N.Y. He was married to Theresa (Unizzo) Losito for over 66 years until her passing on September 27, 2013. A Catholic by faith, Joseph was a parishoner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and had worked as a welder with Honeywell Industries. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those left to mourn Joseph’s passing are his sons: Carmen Losito of Sarasota, FL and Joseph Losito of Baldwinsville, NY; brother Arthur Losito of Cleveland Heights, OH and sisters: Irene Oriend of Waterloo, NY and Charlotte Cooper of Syracuse, NY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael and sister, Delores.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, January 25th at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness with Father Tim Cummings, Celebrant. The family will receive friends in visitation from 9:00 AM until the procession to the church at 9:45 AM, at The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Burial with full military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
