Alverta May Huckleberry, 87, of Dunnellon, FL passed away January 16, 2017 at her residence in Dunnellon. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 17, 1029 to thelate Charles and Delores Smith.
Alverta was a homemaker, and arrived in this area in 1988, coming from Indiana. She was a Methodist by faith, and enjoyed raising yellow roses, reading, doing crossword puzzles, quilting, and making candy and mints.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lee Huckleberry in 2015, her brother, Louis Smith, and several sisters. Survivors include her son James Lee Huckleberry and his wife Wanda, and daughter Linda Lea Hensley of Dunnellon; bother Charles Smith and his wife Sue of Pensacola, FL; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
