Ruby J. Johnston

Ruby Jane Johnston, age 91, passed away January 13, 2017 at Citrus Health and Rehab, Inverness. Ruby was born on May 12, 1925 in Madison County, N.C. to the late Robert and Nep (Calhoun) Norris. She made Citrus County her home in 1974 and married Edgar A. Johnston in 1997. A woman of faith, she attended worship services at the Hernando Church of the Nazarene.
In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed watching religious television and reading the Bible. She also enjoyed traveling, spending her summers in Iowa and attending the Johnston family reunions over the years. Ruby absolutely loved her 1995 Thunderbird which she never let get dirty. She was an excellent homemaker and a wonderful cook.
In addition to her loving husband Edgar, Ruby is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Jones; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
A Funeral Service is planned for Thursday January 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory with Pastor Randy Hodges of the Hernando Church of the Nazarene officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Graveside services for Ruby will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Tallahassee, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
