Donald Charles Riley, 85, Inverness passed away January 15, 2017 in Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast in Lecanto. Mr. Riley was born in Aberdeen, SD on December 4, 1931 to the late Joseph and Vivian (Thomas) Riley and came here in 2008 from Lake Placid, FL. He retired from Eastern Airlines as a mechanic with 30 years of service and served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Ft Cooper Baptist Church, Eastern Airlines Retirees Association, and enjoyed painting in oils.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Goodman Riley; 1 son, Daniel Riley and his wife, Brenda of Inverness; 2 daughters, Lorrie Ausburn and husband Steve of Concord, NC; Yvonne Lehman and husband Ron of Newport, TN;. 1 brother, Ronald Riley; Helen’s children, Bonnie Adler, Donna Graham, and Charles Graham; 7 grandchildren, Jason Lehman, Ryan Ausburn, Christine Causey, Kendall Riley, Katie Riley, Brooklyn Riley, and Jandy Riley; 1 great grandchild, Bridgett Lehman; He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy, his daughter, Susan Martin, 2 brothers, John and Robert Riley, 2 sisters, Vivian Crosby and Dorothy Kindschi.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Fort Cooper Bapist Church with Rev. Marne Palmani officiating. Military Committal Services will follow at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the Music Department of Inverness Christian Academy, 4222 South Florida Avenue, Inverness, FL 34450
