Helen (Elkanich) Ingraham, 95 (widow of Fred Ingraham), of Inverness, FL, (formerly of Stafford Springs, Hazardville, and Hebron, CT), passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Helen had many talents, especially quilting and sewing. She had wonderful flowerbeds and also dabbled in pottery, painting, basket-weaving, rug-hooking, knitting and crocheting.
She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Anna Elkanich; siblings Anne Cheman, Mary Sullivan and George Elkanich; as well as her beloved Great Grandson, Noah Nixon. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Roberts (Roy) and Eileen Nixon (Thomas-deceased); two grandchildren, Kate Nixon and Matt Nixon (Jess); and by her sisters, Vilma Parenteau of Enfield, and Elizabeth Heuitson of Stafford Springs; plus many nieces and nephews.
A donation in her honor may be made to: Alzheimer’s Family Organization, P.O. Box 1939, New Port Richey, FL 34656-1939. Per her request, there will be no services. Private cremation arrangements are be under the care of Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
