William “Bill” M Witchey

William M. “Bill” Witchey, age 83, of Inverness, FL passed away December 25, 2016, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto, FL. Bill was born on November 9, 1933, in Hazelton, PA to the late Edward and Jenny (Roberts) Witchey. On September 12, 1953, he married Anncarol “Carol” Dunning, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Bill worked as a Manager for Manico Elevator Services and Repairs Company, N.Y. for 38 years.

In 1993, Carol and Bill made Citrus County, FL their home after relocating from Massapequa, N.Y. A Catholic by faith, Bill belonged to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. Bill enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities. He loved fishing, hunting and taking his family on camping trips. Carol and Bill had spent 3 months, at a time, camping in the Florida Keys for 10 years and their son “Billy” Jr. would join them. Bill also liked watching NASCAR and FOX News. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.

In addition to his loving wife Carol, those left to mourn Bill’s passing are his son, William Witchey, Jr. and his wife Denise of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; daughters: Carleen Policastro and her late husband James of Long Pond, PA, Juliann Kendzierski and her husband John of Beverly Hills, FL; sister, Theresa Lynch of Pottsville, PA; 8 grandchildren: Victoria, James, Christina, Jennifer, John II, Danielle, Jesse, and Jillian; 12 great grandchildren: Adriana, Brianna, Madelyn, Christopher, Jasmine, Jason, Emerson, Samantha, Gabriel, Elliott, Dean, and Abel. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by 1 brother and 6 sisters.

The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL is assisting the family with private cremation arrangements.
