Peter J. Palmblad, Jr., age 80, passed away November 7, 2016 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. Peter was born on August 22, 1936 in Hopelawn, N.J. to the late Rose (Binder) and Peter J. Palmblad, Sr. He was employed by Johnson and Johnson for a number of years and was also the Superintendent of the Maine Endwell School System in New York prior to his retirement. In 2002, Peter made Citrus County his home after relocating from Pennsylvania. A Methodist by faith, he attended services at Floral City United Methodist Church in Floral City, FL. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed riding motorcycles and had been a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association since August, 2015. He also enjoyed boating, hunting and playing golf. Peter will be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who was truly the patriarch of his family.
Those left to mourn Peter’s passing and cherish his precious memory are his loving wife of 6 years, Lorna Van Kurn Palmblad; daughter, Patricia Lamkay and her husband Robert of Oviedo, FL; step-daughter, Michele Keefe and her husband Tom of Pennsylvania; siblings: Dorothy Tomasso of New Jersey, Lillian Wolff of New Jersey, Robert Palmblad of Orlando, FL, Hans Palmblad of New Jersey and Gale Howard of New York; grandchildren: Raeanna Brandes of California, Daniel Abell of Pennsylvania, Allison Pooran of Florida, Melissa Martin of Florida, Megan Lamkay of Florida and 10 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on November 12, 2016 at Floral City United Methodist Church in Floral City, FL. The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
