Gloria A McKenzie

Gloria Ann McKenzie, age 65, of Inverness, FL died at her residence on October 12, 2016. Gloria was born on September 30, 1951 in Tampa, FL to the late Ralph and Sarah (Tant) Poore. In 2000, she made Citrus County her home after relocating from Homestead, FL. Gloria was a Christian by faith and a spiritual person that loved helping others. She would spend time with elderly patients at Arbor Trail giving them the companionship and attention they deserved. Gloria worked throughout her life as a medical assistant. She will be remembered as a loving person with a big heart that was completely devoted to the people she loved. Gloria also loved animals. Those left to mourn her passing include her daughter, Sarah McKenzie of Spring Hill, FL; brothers: Eddie and Ernie Leon of Bradenton, FL; sister, Alice Evans of Lebanon, TN; and her loving fiance since 1992, Dennis Herota of Inverness, FL. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Michael McDonald and sister, Irene Short. The Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private cremation arrangements.
