Cheryl Wedler, age 66, of Inverness, FL died August 5, 2016 at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, FL. Cheryl was born on December 30, 1949 in Fond Du Lac, WI to Mary Soik and the late George Soik. In 1967, she married David Wedler with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.
In 2002, she and David moved to the Inverness, FL area but decided to go back to Wisconsin for awhile. They eventually made Inverness their permanent home in August of 2015. Cheryl greatly enjoyed making crafts. She was also an animal lover, as evidenced by the numerous pets and animals she and David kept.
In addition to her loving husband David, those left to mourn Cheryl’s passing are her son: Jess Wedler of Inverness, FL; her mother: Mary Soik of Ogden, UT; grandson: Damion Wedler of Merrill, WI; six sisters: Sue and her husband Brent of Chico, CA, Joan and her husband Rick of Ogden, UT, Diane and her husband Charles of Eugene, OR, Cindy and her husband Mike of Lancaster, S.C., Caroline and her husband Dennis of Stevens Point, WI and Jessie and her husband Shane of Green Bay, WI.
Cheryl’s family plan on scattering her ashes in Wisconsin at a later date. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Cheryl’s memory to the Humane Society of Citrus County, P.O. Box 2283, Inverness, FL 34451.
