Marilyn Starrett Mellett, 85 of Floral City, Florida, died Friday, July 29, 2016 under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County at Citrus Health and Rehab Center after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s. Mrs Mellett was born June 9, 1931 in Marblehead, MA, daughter of the late Caroline O’Keefe Battles and William O’Keefe. She worked at GTE for 23 years, and lived for many years in Dunedin, FL. She had many homes and lived in many places before moving Inverness, FL. Marilyn attended the Inverness Presbyterian Church.
Survived by her loving children, daughter, Caryn Vaccaro and son-in-law Frank Vaccaro of Floral City, FL; her son, Paul Starrett and daughter -in-law Matina Starrett of Middletown, DE, daughter Judy Huse and husband Ken Huse of Inverness, FL, stepdaughter, Debbie Mellett Kling and her husband Chip Kling of Londonderry, N.H; adopted daughter Anne Fullerton of Inverness, FL. Nana’s loving grandchildren are: Dana, Amy & Matthew Vaccaro, Shannon Watson, Candace McNaughton, Audrey Mraz, Thomas Starrett, Heidi, Haley and Kyle King and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Mellett in 2007.
