Richard A. Patz 72, passed peacefully on June 17. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 7, 1944. He is survived by his three children, Michael (Ruth) Patz, Erin (John) Spielberger and Anne Patz; his mother, Wadine (Cliff) Ansley, his brother Don (Betsey) Patz and three sisters Debbie Patz, Patty Yates, and Lesa (Jimmy) Stoney. He was predeceased by his father, Richard D. Patz. Richard had 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Richard graduated from Dixie Hollins High School and the University of South Florida where he received his Master’s degree in Chemistry. After graduating from USF, he worked for Procter and Gamble, Stauffer Chemical, and in the restaurant supply industry, until he transitioned to his career passion, education, where he worked for the Broward County and Citrus County school systems. Richard loved his family. He desired to make the world a better place and instill that value to all he knew. He was also an avid bird watcher who found peace in nature.
A memorial service will be held on July 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 2840 E. Hayes Street, Inverness, FLÂ 34453. Chas E Davis Funeral Home With Crematory is assisting the family
