Willie “Fay” Russom

Willie “Fay” Russom, 84, of Inverness, FL passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at her residence in Inverness surrounded by her family and in the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. She was born on September 27, 1931 in Glennville, GA to the late Coy Hampton and Marie (Albert) Barrow.

Fay was a factory worker, and arrived in this area in 2008, coming from Ft. Myers, FL. She was a Baptist by faith, and enjoyed gardening, tending her roses, crafting, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Curtis E. Russom in 2005, and one son, Joseph Lee Hammock. She is survived by her children; John B. (Judy) Hammock of Miami, FL, Raymond C. (Nadine) Hammock of Sebring, FL, Gordon Lee (Kathy) Hammock of Ft. Myers, FL, Joseph Ralph (Alberta) Hammock of Merritt Island, FL, Martha F. Williams and Linda J. (Donald) Beard, both of Inverness; sisters Dee Trumbly, Joann Holt, and Marneil Hopkins; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, 1:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Fay’s urn will be laid to rest beside her husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
