Kenneth Jacob Murphy, 92, of Inverness, FL passed away March 12, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Manor ALF in Inverness. He was born on April 20, 1923 in Hartland, VT to the late Julian and Emily (Kibler) Murphy.
Kenneth was a U.S. Navy, WWII Veteran, and owner of a farm equipment company. He arrived in this area in 1985, coming from Quechee, VT and was Methodist by faith. He liked fishing, but enjoyed golfing more. Kenneth also enjoyed watching TV, gardening, farming. He loved his grandchildren, as well as his pets and animals.
Kenneth was preceded in death by a son, Reginald Murphy, and 2 sisters, Orvilla Murphy and Priscilla Atwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Virginia Murphy. Other survivors include his children Malcolm Murphy of Inverness, Michael (Kelly) Murphy of Enfield, NH, and Kimberly Murphy also of Inverness; brother Jack Murphy; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Kenneth’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
