Lucille E. Gunn

Lucille “Lucy Goosey” Evelyn Gunn, 71, of Inverness, Florida, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Lucy was born on March 6, 1944, in Miami, Florida, to the late Woodrow Winston and Evelyn (Wile) Gunn, Sr.

She has two surviving brothers, Barnette K. Gunn, III, and Woodrow (Buzz) Gunn, Jr.; and a sister, Sharron J. Gunn; she was preceded in death by her brother, Wyvonne C. Gunn. Lucille was a member of Iglesia Bautista West Flagler Park Church in Miami, and attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Inverness.

She was a lifelong inspiration to her nieces and nephews with her exuberant enthusiasm, her zest for life and learning. Lucille had a playful and adventurous spirit, a joyful smile of love, boundless energy, and a remarkable ability for math. Lucille had tremendous navigational skills which allowed her great independence, when traveling from Old Cutler to downtown Miami to Hialeah, and as far as West Palm Beach, all on her bicycle.

We all feel her deep presence with only the image of her beautiful smile. She will experience the very bright light that she is, now that she is in heaven. We all are very grateful for all the wonderful times we’ve shared, and so much we’ve learned from her growing up:

8 times 8 fell on the floor, when I picked it up, it was 64!
Streets run East to West. Avenues run North to South.
“Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite, AND EVERYBODY LOVES YOU,” LUCILLE
