Dolores E. Ponkey, 91, of Lecanto, FL, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, passed away February 19, 2016 at Brentwood Lodge in Lecanto. She was born in Iron Mountain, MI on February 8, 1925 to the late Grover and Lydia (Burkman) Hiler. Dolores was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She recently resided at Brentwood Lodge in Lecanto, FL. Prior to that, she resided in Spring Hill, Fl for 30 plus years, and enjoyed traveling, entertainment, golfing, skiing, and loved the outdoors. Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph L. Ponkey, and a son, Joseph L. Ponkey, Jr. Survivors include her children Joyce Gabler of Kingman, AZ, Joanne (Donald) Campbell of Inverness, FL, Michael (Joanne) Ponkey of Waterford, MI, Larry Ponkey and his significant other, Ronald E. Moore of Jacksonville, FL, William Ponkey of Palm Coast, FL, and Gary Ponkey of Holly, MI; sisters Vivian Boughner of Gaylord, MI, and Beatrice Morales of Kansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, 10:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
