James R. Mott, Jr., 78, Inverness passed away Jan 1, 2016 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast. Jim was born Aug 9, 1937 in Brooksville, FL to the late James and Edith (McClain) Mott, Sr.
James moved to Citrus Co. in 2010. He retired from Florida’s Dept of Transportation as an engineer with over 20 years of service and served our country in both the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Arline Mott; two daughters, Kim Mott, Franklin, TN; Michelle Rositani, Waterbury, CT; two brothers, Gary Mott and David Mott, both of Brooksville; one sister, Patricia Howard, Sumter, SC; four grandchildren: Erica, Sofia, Roma, and Joey. He was preceded in death by his brother Joe Mott and his sister, Sharon Mott.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, January 5th at 11:00 AM from Victory Baptist Church of Inverness with Rev. Gary Beehler officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness. Friends may call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home Monday from 4-6PM.
