Ruth Lenora Bonner, age 100, of Brooksville, FL passed away peacefully on November 21, 2015 while under the care of staff at Brooksville Health Care Center, Brooksville. Ruth was born on May 25, 1915 in Arp, Georgia to the late William S. and Queen (Hallman) Bonner.
She was a woman blessed with many talents including shooting. She had won awards for her shooting skills, was a great shot with a .38 special, and a proud member of the N.R.A. Ruth was a talented singer and in her youth regularly sang on the radio. She loved to fish, especially for speckled perch. When teaching someone how to fish, she would explain to them “it was all in the wrist”. Ruth was a devout Methodist and her faith was very important to her throughout her lifetime.
Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are two sons, William (Linda) Bonner of Brooksville, FL and Donald (Lynn) Bonner of Pembroke Pines, FL; one daughter, Diane Bonner of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her twin brother, Roy Young; and her husband, William Bonner.
The Charles E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements.
